St. Joseph Institute

This serene mountainside retreat, with its log and stone buildings, quiet valleys, and mountain vistas, takes a holistic approach toward the promotion of health, wellness, and personal and spiritual well-being. The Laurel Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art facility that is the region's largest spa, offers a very comprehensive menu that includes therapeutic massage, a large array of spa treatments, and a comprehensive group of healing and wellness services in addition to fitness classes. The founder and director of the Institute, Jenny Sheetz, MA, CN, is widely recognized for the healing power of her bodywork and counseling techniques. Many guests come for healing intensives to address chronic pain, depression, injuries, relationship issues, and spiritual questions. Guests at Pennsylvania's newest resort (built in 2005) will find here a tranquil, serene haven, where the only sounds are those of nature. Groups of up to 32 can be accommodated.
