Adult and Pediatric Dermatology

Adult & Pediatric Dermatology is a dermatology office featuring a soothing, spa-like ambiance. This 1,500-square-foot facility is overseen by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist who works closely with each patient to develop a treatment plan that is executed with the assistance of two cosmetic physicians, four nurse practitioners, and two estheticians/electrologists. Though a fully functioning medical practice, the office has a separate entrance for cosmetic patients, along with a reception area with subdued lighting and massage chairs. A team of cosmetic concierges attends to clients' needs. Depending on the outcome of the patient/dermatologist consultation that commences treatment, options may be prescribed that range from injectable fillers (BOTOX®, Radiesse, Sculptra, and others) to laser therapies that address a host of common conditions. Three different FDA-approved lasers are used for permanent reduction of unwanted hair. Other state-of-the-art laser therapies are aimed at eradicating skin irregularities (hyperpigmentation, sunspots, freckles, etc.), including the laser pigment peel, a minimal-downtime procedure designed to attract excess pigment to the surface in order to extract it. Radio-frequency devices are also used for facial resurfacing. Especially effective around the eyes and mouth, Visage employs radio-frequency energy to stimulate collagen production without the intense heat associated with laser treatments. Thermage, which delivers targeted bursts of energy to problem areas via a cooling-tip applicator, has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles. Less intensive modalities are available as well. An extensive selection of Karin Herzog facials includes oxygen treatment and hydrating treatment. Acid peels vary in potency from gentle to moderate. Medical microdermabrasion treatments are offered in series to maximize skin rejuvenation. Among the top-quality skincare brands used and sold within the practice are Prevage MD, MD Forte, Skin Medica, Neostrata, and Topix Pharmaceuticals.
