Sanctuary Day & Medical Spa provides both nurturing day spa services and results-oriented medical options for anti-aging, skin renewal, and damage prevention. The spa's medical director, a board-certified physician, heads a staff of experienced registered nurses, licensed estheticians, and massage therapists. Treatment rooms (13 in all) are arranged in a horseshoe-shaped configuration around the men's and women's lounges and three private steam shower rooms. Before treatments, guests luxuriate in a relaxation room where snacks and beverages are served. Located on the Monterey Bay, the 3,500-square-foot facility features classic California-casual design. The medical director personally trains the licensed physician assistants and registered nurses who administer all advanced skincare treatments, including BOTOX® and filler injections. IPL (intense pulse light) photo-facials address signs of aging and skin irregularities with targeted bursts of collagen-stimulating light energy. Laser hair removal treatments are designed to permanently reduce unwanted hair for men and women with a series of six treatments applied to commonly affected areas, such as the face, back, legs, and underarms. Licensed and trained estheticians and massage therapists are qualified to perform an array of aesthetic treatments. Cellulite-reduction massage and Synergie anti-cellulite vacuum technology can be combined with a prescription home regimen for maximum results. Acne facials and skin rejuvenation peels incorporate active ingredients such as enzymes and cosmeceuticals. Cleansing and nourishing facials are offered for men and women in addition to microdermabrasion. Luxurious body treatments include warm stone, deep tissue, reflexology, and pre-natal massage featuring aromatherapy. Hydrotherapy underwater massage, seaweed and milk-and-honey wraps, body scrubs, and spray tanning are available as well.
