| This is a follow up to my previous review. I contacted the spa, posted reviews and filed a complaint with the BBB. The spa owner replied on May 30. I will attach her email here so everyone can read it. It gave hope to resolution to this issue, with her stating that they indeed have given refunds (as I was told they do not), and she would "hopefully" get back to me at the end of the day. That was 2 weeks ago. I'd say that end of the day came and went. As proof of the ongoing inability to get a response from them, here it is in their words and that they again never followed up. If you are seeking a spa in Portland, I'd advise to spend your money elsewhere. Despite positive reviews on other sites, there is suspicion some of those were written by insiders. When my daughter put this info out on twitter, she received numerous replies stating what an awful experience others had with Aequis. As I said, be warned, and spend your money on a place that actually cares about their service and customers. With the economy what it is, this is a luxury expenditure. Maybe Aequis should think about that. Here is the owners reply, and as I wrote, this was sent to me 2 weeks ago and I have never heard from her again! Good morning Olivia, Thank you for your emails. You have provided me with great information and I am researching the situation on our end. First, we have issued refunds in the past and I am committed to getting you not only the outcome you desire, but going above and beyond what you could expect. I am not doing this because of the leverage of reviews - but because it is the right thing to do. Not only do I want to find out what happened, but I want to find out by whom. All of our calls are documented and have been for 12 years. This is helpful to find the details we need to figure out how we let people down, and how to not do it again. There are reasons you may have the experience you had - but not excuses. | My daughter bought me a gift package for Christmas for $275., which was bought before the holiday in December. They never acknowledged the gift, resulting in my daughter needing to call them repeatedly, leaving messages, and finally contacted someone who stated it was a staff person who made an email mistake. On January 28, 2012 I finally got an email but the surprise of the gift was long over. I then tried to call them to get information about the services, the package, and to schedule. Every time I called I got an message stating to leave a message but no call backs. Late one night I got a voice mail. When I called to schedule, again with the messages as no one answers their phone, I finally did get a person today - the end of May. I find out that I cannot get the services advertised on their website as they no longer give those services, yet they are still on the site as of today. I also was told they cannot schedule me until "summer" which was so ambiguous, and now I understand to be late August. 9 months after my daughter bought me this! I know on other sites people have had a good experience here, but read ALL the reviews on various sites as their customer service, appointment scheduling and getting the service you want seems to be a consistent issue with them. They have false advertising on their site about their services, they are impossible to get in touch with and get an answer in any timely manner, and forget trying to schedule an appointment that might be anytime soon. The BBB gives them an F rating. I have filed a complaint, I want my daughter to get a refund, though am told they don't give those - despite that information NOT being on their website. Don't waste your time here, there are other places that actually CARE about their customers! |
